Description
Who’s It For
Cobra’s new KING F9 Speedback fairway woods were created to give golfers everything they want when it comes to fairway wood performance, including impressive ball speeds and forgiveness, as well as a clubhead design that launches the ball in the air with ease from the turf. F9 fairways also feature significant customization options to help players fine tune their preferred flight conditions. Add it all up and these are fairway woods that will fit a wide array of players. For those, however, who are looking for enhanced workability and a naturally flatter trajectory, the more compact F9 Speedback Tour fairway wood is also available.
The Tech Story
From a technology standpoint, the Cobra F9 Speedback fairway woods feature many of the same innovations that have been utilized in the F9 driver. Included in that list is a lightweight carbon crown that allows for a low, deep CG position. Also helping contribute to the low center of gravity is a combination of fixed weight (steel and tungsten) that has been positioned in the back of the clubhead. In total, these design features have lowered the F9’s CG by 10 percent when compared to the F8 fairway woods, which is leading to faster ball speeds, higher launch conditions, and improved stability at impact. Also new in the F9 fairways is a face insert that has been CNC milled from 475 stainless steel, which enables a thinner clubface and more ball speed from all strike locations. Additionally, polymer crown trips and steel sole trips reduce air drag during the swing to help players maximize clubhead speed. The F9 Speedback fairway woods also feature redesigned Baffler rails to provide exceptional turf interaction and improved performance on mis-hits, and Cobra’s MyFly8 adjustable hosel provides golfers with eight unique settings to help them create their preferred trajectory and shot shape. F9 fairways also come standard with COBRA CONNECT technology, which allows players to pair their fairway wood(s) with their smartphone through a sensor that’s embedded in the butt end of the grip to track stats and identify shot tendencies.
